Support for Near Misses

Incidents are occurrences in which employees were harmed or materials damaged. A near-miss, by contrast, is characterized by this type of event not leading to harm while still having the potential to have caused harm. In other words: a near miss is a situation with a probable risk level that does not result in any harm.

This features adds a simpler flow for incidents of the type ‘near miss’:

  1. Introduces a separate categorization element for near misses (toggle determines if categories belong to near miss-type incidents or incident-type incidents);
  2. Introduces the ability for a Validator to send a near miss immediately for Verification after categorization;
  3. Retains the ability for a Validator to send a near miss for investigation;
  4. Investigation for a near miss-type incident can now be closed without an action plan.
